Thankfully many among the faithful have heard a higher call to build on the web a virtual temple of knowledge to the Triune God and our most exemplary model and beloved mother, Mary, Queen of Heaven.

These links are but a small sampling of useful pages to expand our knowledge of the faith:

  • In the last few years the Vatican site has grown exponentially in its sophistication, level of information, and official documents provided. A breathtaking experience is the high quality of the images on the online tour of the various treasures contained in the Vatican Museums. Another highly recommended service is the free subscription to daily e-mail dispatches by the Vatican Information Service.
  • An invaluable resource, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops site, contains numerous links to issues of interest to American Catholics today, as well as links to all the books of the Bible and the complete Catechism of the Catholic Church.
  • The Miami Archdiocese has extensive pages listing numerous ministries, commissions, charters, guidelines, parishes, services, and publications.
  • Our neighbor up the road in Big Pine Key, the Saint Peter Church page features the many activities, plans and efforts of our sister parish in tropical paradise.
  • Ever tried to remember the right prayer for the right occasion? The Catholic prayers site has done a great job of cataloging tens of prayers by subject matter.
  • The Catholic Online website is a large clearing house for numerous Catholic interests, from news and articles to indexes on Saints and Angels, to services and public forums.
  • The Catholic Encyclopedia is a gargantuan effort begun in 1917 and today available on the net. It is a page from the larger www.newadvent.org site that includes more than 11,000 articles on Catholic topics, the theological masterpiece of St. Thomas Aquinas, the letters, speeches and books from the earliest Christians, and an extensive index of Catholic links and articles.
  • The Catholic Information Network contain a wealth of information on Catholic issues, particularly useful are its pages on liturgy, prayer intentions, and Marian devotion among its many links.
  • The American Catholic site is home to the online editions of St. Anthony Messenger, Catholic Update, Millennium Monthly, Youth Update, Scripture From Scratch and other Catholic features. Particular refreshing are its Update your Faith and Minute Meditations pages.
  • There are several Rosary sites on the web, the Vatican rosary page is highly recommended, as well as the Holy Rosary site of the Rosary Confraternity of the Dominican Fathers which is noteworthy for its clarity and the scope of the information provided on how to pray the Rosary.
  • The Mary's Heart site, originating in town, contains messages that are in the process of obtaining the "Nihil Obstat / Imprimatur Status" and have been reviewed and cleared for public reading as "Private Revelations."
  • The national-level Knights of Columbus site features outstanding information on the goals and efforts of this noble organization committed to promote charity, unity, fraternity, patriotism, and defend the priesthood. The State Council lists Florida officials, councils and programs of interest.
  • And finally, the website of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, particularly its virtual tour of the building and its numerous chapels.
